Project Management

This section demonstrates my ability to plan, coordinate, and execute communication projects in collaborative and deadline-driven environments. It highlights my experience managing workflows, organizing deliverables, and balancing leadership and contributor roles while ensuring projects remain user-centered and strategically aligned.

Project Management – Tracker, Report, & Graphics

This collaborative project management and infographic design project demonstrates my ability to integrate planning, leadership, and user-centered communication in a structured, team-based environment. Partnering with a peer, Ben, we developed a comprehensive project tracker to manage the creation of two infographics based on ADEQ water data, taking turns serving as both project manager and contributor. This dual-role approach required me to both guide and execute work, strengthening my understanding of project workflows, accountability, and team dynamics. We created detailed project scopes, work breakdown structures (WBS), and status reports to ensure progress stayed on track within a strict two-week timeline for each graphic. Additionally, we developed a research-based persona representing Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) stakeholders to guide content decisions, ensuring that the infographics addressed the needs, concerns, and constraints of a real-world audience. My role included both designing an infographic and managing my partner’s work, requiring clear communication, iterative feedback, and adaptability across different phases of the project.

This project strengthened my collaboration and leadership skills while also reinforcing key MSTC outcomes across multiple areas. I applied rhetorical knowledge by tailoring content to a specific professional audience and using genre conventions appropriate for infographics and project documentation. My critical thinking and research skills were developed through analyzing technical water data, translating complex information, and applying audience insights to design decisions. In terms of practices and processes, I built flexible strategies for planning, drafting, revising, and coordinating work across shared tools like Google Drive and Zoom, while also navigating the collaborative and social dynamics of team-based projects. The project further enhanced my technological fluency by requiring me to evaluate and use platforms such as Canva and Adobe Express for visual communication, as well as project tracking tools for organization and workflow management. Overall, this work reflects my growth in project management, strategic communication, visual design, and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively while producing user-centered, professional deliverables.
